Roster Duty

Each member is required to work 2 x 2 hour sessions of roster duty per membership, and this must be completed within the first 12 weeks of your membership term. Allocate your roster dates on the noticeboard in the toy library upon joining or renewing your membership.

The number of toys you may borrow depends on the membership type. Please see membership types above. Toys may be borrowed for two weeks. The same toy cannot be borrowed on consecutive occasions. Speak to the Toy Library Co-ordinator for further details regarding borrowing limits and conditions.

Overdue Toys

A charge of $2.00 per week applies for late toy returns, with a maximum charge of $10.00.

Missing Pieces

The onus is on members to check items and count pieces before borrowing. This has the added advantage of familiarising yourself with the pieces so that you can recognise them in your home. If a toy is returned with a piece/pieces missing you must reborrow the toy for a further two weeks to try and find the missing piece/pieces. If pieces cannot be found a fine of $4.00 per missing piece will be charged which is fully refundable when the piece/pieces are found and returned. We hope you find the missing piece so the toy can be returned to our shelves for others to borrow.

Damaged Toys

The Committee will treat cases of damage on an individual basis.

Toy Library Committee

The Hobsons Bay Toy Library is managed by a voluntary member committee, elected annually. We always welcome new committee members and have a number of short and long term projects and positions available. You donít need any particular experience to be a valuable committee member, just a willingness to participate and take an interest in the future direction of the Toy Library.

Working on the Committee is both rewarding and enjoyable, and offers all members a chance to have input to how the Toy Library operates.

All committee meetings are open to members and you are most welcome to join us. Committee Meetings are held on the second Tuesday of the month at the Toy Library, commencing at 7.30pm.

If you are interested in joining the committee and would like more details, please email hobsonsbaytoylibrary@gmail.com
